The Cultural Association "Società di Danza" celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Italy Unification organizing of Italy in the whole peninsula, from Piemonte to Apulia, the " Grand Balls Risorgimentali". A project that has deep roots. Since 1993, the Società di Danza organized in Bologna the Garnd Ball of the Unità d'Italia, to celebrate with a Grand Ball, exactly as did the patriots in the years 1848 to 1860, the victories of the Risorgimento movement. To celebrate the founding values of the emerging Italian nation: Freedom, democracy, economic and social progress. Inspired by the heartfelt words of President Emeritus Carlo Azeglio Ciampi before and after President Giorgio Napolitano, Società di Danza since 2008 has designed and produced a long series of national events to raise awareness to the theme of the anniversary of the 150th of Unification of Italy. In 2011 the project reached its peak with the construction of the Grand Ballroom Risorgimentali in dozens of Italian cities with the involvement of a thousand dancers and tens of thousands of spectators. It was a great collective effort, self funded, made by an association that is a cross-section of civil society, a real movement, which wanted to show herself and Italy that associations can and must be a strong engine of cultural growth of a nation. Società di Danza is honored to have been able to present to the President Giorgio Napolitano on March 20, 2011 in Halls of Caryatids of Palazzo Reale in Milano, the result of their efforts. It is honored to have had at his side in the project:: the Military Academy of Modena, the Naval Academy of Livorno and the Miltary North Region; the Prefectures of Ferrara, Pavia and Siena; Regions, Provinces and Municipalities; Sopraintendenze ai Beni Culturali of Piemonte, Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna, Toscany, Lazio and Campania; Hungarian Academy in Roma an National Museum in Budapest. The Grand Balls Risorgimentali were realized through the efforts of a thousand members of the Cultural Association "Società di Danza". About thirty teachers have held dance lessons nineteenth century in 2011 in Italy, for more than 2,500 hours total. It was an event perhaps unique in the world of dance, from the deep sense of social and artistic. A tribute to the Italian Italians who made Italy. From history, a lesson declined to the present time. Fabio Móllica President Nazionale Società di Danza |
