About Palazzo Roverella
Designed by Biagio Rossetti, Roverella Palace was built in 1508 by Gaetano Magnani, secretary of Duke Alfonso I. The building passed to Roverella in the eighteenth century. It is a building of character typical of Ferrara, in the portal, the terracotta ornamental in rectangular pillars. The facade has a rich terracotta decorations prepared so as to obtain a true partition of the geometric surface. The central three-light window and windows with paired pilasters are leaning to the reasons typically rossettiani. The central balcony was added in the eighteenth century. The interior of the building, truly sumptuous, is the result of rebuilding the twenties of the twentieth century. It is certainly remarkable that the Palace - the last work of Biagio Rossetti - arose in the course Giovecca, ideal axis which divides the medieval from the Renaissance.
