Weekly classes
The acitivities started in March 1994 in Pisa with regular
weekly classes of XIX Century dances and
Scottish Country dances.
Classes were on Wednesday in Spring 1994 and on Friday from Fall 1994.
Weekly classes have been organized in more levels and in two days, Friday and Monday
from year 1995, in the gymnasium of the 'Scuole Mazzini', V. Gentileschi 10.
In Fall 1997 classes started in Livorno, at in
the gymnasium of the 'Bastia', V. Mastacchi.
Some historical dance classes have been at the
Royal Victoria Hotel, Lungarno Pacinotti, 12.
We studied XIX Century dances of European tradition, including quadrilles, country dances,
waltz, mazurka, polka, galop, schottische.
The dances are studied according to the resarch work of the
Società di Danza.
We studied scottish country dances, according to the
Scottish dance tradition and research of the
Royal Scottish Country Society.

The Circolo Pisano organized several balls and tea dances during years 1994-1999.
- "Gran Ballo delle Magnolie"
(March 1995) historical reconstruction of balls in XIX Century
costumes in the Teatro
Verdi in Pisa.
- "Gran Ballo La Favilla"
(March 1997), historical reconstruction of
balls in XIX Century
costumes in the Teatro
Verdi in Pisa.
- Several balls in various historical building of the town,
such as

- Sala da Ballo del Casino dei Nobili.

Special Events
The Circolo Pisano organized some special historical reconstructions of
balls and special events, also in collaboration with various public
and private cultural institutions.
- "Danzando le Operette"
historical reconstruction of a social dances in
late XIX Century with music from famous operettas, within the "Fine d'Anno a
Teatro in the Teatro
Verdi in Pisa on 31st December 1997.
- "Gran Finale"
social dances including waltzes, marches and polkas,
within the "
Fine d'Anno a Teatro" in the
Teatro Verdi in Pisa
on 31st December 1998.

Gran Ballo dell'Unione Europea
an historical reconstruction of a European
ball in XIX century costumes in

The "Gran Ballo dell'Unione Europea" is a project of the
Società di Danza of study
with seminars held in Bologna by some European historical dance researchers
and ball reconstruction with various groups of
dancers from several European countries, performed
in various Italian cities, including Bologna, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Imola, Faenza, Pisa.
The "Gran Ballo dell'Unione Europea" has been organized by the
Società di Danza from 1995 to 1999.
